How would you like to be one of the first readers of this Lady Knight story?

What kind of alpha were you thinking when you read the subject? Hopefully not the wolfy kind, because I don’t have that.

As you know, I am participating in the Goblin Presents: A Vacation Anthology. My story is still in its very early stages and I’m looking for alpha readers! More about that later, for now, let me throw this preorder link in your face.

My contribution is Demon For A Knight and it will be set in my Enchanted Forest world.

Alrighty, now let’s discuss Alpha reading.

What is Alpha reading?

Alpha reading is the process of having a trusted person read the very first, raw draft of a manuscript to provide high-level feedback on story structure, plot holes, and character development. Unlike beta readers, who read nearly finished work, alpha readers help shape the story while it is still in development, allowing for major revisions. The focus is on the big picture, conceptual issues, pacing, consistency, and overall plot. Not grammar and punctuation. You read the draft it’s rawest form. Okay, for me, not the rawest form. I give a quick round of initial edits before I let anyone see it, BUT its still sloppy. Commas are sprinkled in like Parmesan, words are misspelled, sometimes entire sentences make zero sense. My first drafts sometimes fly out of me like bats out of hell. Though I’d like to think that I have very good bats and they’re creating a story with little to no plot holes, I am an author and I live in my delusions. So I am humbly requesting someone well read in the fantasy genre to offer me their eyes and their opinions.
