As for other updates..
I’m still working on Project Silvercloak, a red riding hood inspired story in a gothic setting with a queer, all Black cast. Its still in the very early drafting stages where everything is prone to change but here is a quote I hope stays until the end:
Hazel’s mouth fell open, her words falling out clumsily. “I—I…” What’s she trying to say? She’s sorry? She didn’t mean to? She bites her tongue around the lies before they take hold. “Are you angry?” she asks instead.
Roan quirks a brow, the mole above it rising with it. Hazel wants to lick it. There’s no part of Roan she doesn’t ache to taste. Her breath quickens with the thought, and when she meets Roan’s eyes again, she hates that she can’t read the emotion there. Her eyes have gone slitted, serpentine. But is it anger? Hunger? Both? Roan’s grip loosens, but she doesn’t let go as she leans close enough that her short curls frame Hazel’s face.
“How would you make it up to me,” Roan asks, her voice sin and silk against Hazel’s ear, “if I said I was?”
“I’d do anything,” she breathes.
“Anything?” the corners of Roan’s mouth tease a smile.
“Anything to keep you from being angry with me.”
“I’m furious.”
And that’s all for now!
